About Me
I was born in Scotland and relocated to Australia aged seventeen. I completed my undergraduate degree at The University of Melbourne, with a major in Media & Communications. After working in this field, I realised that my passion lies in mental health education and decided to enrol in a Master’s in Psychology. I completed my MSc at The University of Westminster in London.
During the pandemic, I relocated to the Netherlands where my parents had been living for several years. I am now settled in Rotterdam and am part of a close-knit queer community. I joined the organisation Queer Rotterdam, a non-profit that aims to connect, support and empower local LGTQIA+ people. It was here that I organised my first workshop about accessing mental health support and after receiving great feedback, I was motivated to create more.
My workshops are suitable for students, employees and members of community groups, amongst others. My primary focus is to foster community support and resource-sharing, regardless of participants’ age, gender and background. I believe that there needs to be a shift towards collective care rather than a sole emphasis on individual therapy, especially in a time where these systems are overwhelmed.
